Masterclass: 11 Plait Strand

Equipment:

• Hairband
• Hairbrush

Method:

• Brush hair through.
• Create a 5 strand plait first.
• Once you have finished it tie a hairband at the end. When tying the plait make the outer strands of the plait loose.
• On one side of the plait start to create a 3 strand plait but when a strand gets crossed over to the 5 strand plait side, link that over and into a loop of the strands from the outside of the 5 strand plait and then back into the 3 strand plait.
• Continue looping the plaits together downwards and then tie the ends together into the hairband.
• Repeat this with another 3 strand plait on the other side.
• When finished, tighten any loose parts and tie the ends together with a hairband.

Outcome:

It took me a couple times to get the 5 strand plait right but it is quite easy to do once you understand where and how to hook each strand together. I think I did well for a first attempt just can never understand how to make it tidy at the beginning.
