Beehive
Equipment:
-
Curlers
-
Sectioning
clips
-
Hair
grips
-
Hairspray
-
Dry
Shampoo
-
Pintail
comb
Method:
-
Section
the front of the hair from the back at the ears.
-
Take
the back section and from the top barrel curl in sections, working your way
down to the mid back of the head (nobby part of head).
-
When
curling each section, make sure the curl is tight and keep it in place using
sectioning clips.
-
Make a triangle on each side of the top curl
and curl those sections. This will help make the shape more rounded.
-
Take
the sectioning clips out and construct the shape by backcombing all the
sections.
-
Depending
on what type of beehive you want, if you want it to have loose hair hanging at
the front then take some of the front section from the ears and forward, and
then bring that section over the backcombed part. If you want all the hair put
into a beehive then scoop all of the front section back over the backcombed
part.
-
Shapen
the beehive by combing it and making it into a round shape. Using the pintail
part of the comb can also help create the shape.
-
Poke
the inside of the beehive to make sure it has enough stability to stay put.
-
To
finish, hairspray the shape.
Outcome:
For my first try I found it difficult to create the round shape for the beehive and also struggled combing the front section over the beehive but I think that was because the hair on the dolls head was quite worn out. For a first attempt I did manage to get the height right it just needed to be more round and not so bumpy.
